The VoidWalker is the culmination of a decade of innovation, design and engineering. It has a highly efficient, cutting edge cold-fusion reactor and the most sophisticated self-aware computer system in the solar system.

The heart of the VoidWalker is the "Black Box" wormhole generator, developed by Dr. Rhiannon Smith. Rhiannon is the daughter of Nobel prize winner Dr. Jake Smith, who became the first person to create an artificial wormhole between two points in space-time. Ms. Smith will be joining the VoidWalker's crew on its maiden voyage, as the actual workings of the "Black Box" are known only to her.

E.V.E

E.V.E is an acronym for (TBA). Eve is the result of specialised research into genetics, molecular biology, quantum physics, and cybernetics.

Eve's CPU is a living, organic brain. She survives by feeding off liquified nutrients that she can extract from any source of food. Her brain is as sophisticated as yours or mine and her personality is that of a young and intelligent woman with a caring and thoughtful nature, coupled with a logical and analytical mind.

Throughout the ship are a series of holo-projectors through which Eve can communicate. She can project a walking, talking image of herself anywhere within the ship. This image has no substance, but she can see, hear, feel and smell anything on board the ship.

A more intimate form of communication with Eve is possible through the bio-interface chamber. This organic room is lined with telepathic cells. A person lies naked and weightless inside this room and can directly link minds with Eve, experiencing everything that she does (subject to security clearance protocols).

The "Black Box"

The Black Box is a small, featureless cube, about the size of a rubiks cube. It weights just under a kilo. This mysterious device is responsible for creating the artificial wormholes that the VoidWalker is able to travel through.

In order for the Black Box to operate it must be inserted into the interface unit situated in the Black Box chamber. This chamber is a bare room containing a black rectangular slab (the interface unit). When the Black Box is placed upon the slab, the slab becomes semi-liquid and the box sinks into it. The slab, having absorbed the box, becomes solid again.

If it is necessary to remove the Black Box, this can be done by someone with sufficient security clearance. Simply placing one's plam flat on the slab will cause it to spit out the Box.

Wormhole travel is achieved by means of an astro-navigation unit situated on the Bridge. A stellar cartographer can use the datajack interface provided to program the unit with the spacial co-ordinates of a point in space time. The device then commands the Black Box to generate a wormhole directly in front of the craft. The pilot can then steer the ship through the wormhole. Travel is instantaneous.
